Fountain Hills has been known for its Fountain, Great Fair, the Fountain Festival, its magnificent mountain views and its very friendly people. In 1993 it was voted one of the "50 Fabulous Places to Raise your Family" and was featured on Oprah. After that the community quickly became both a vacation mecca as well as a place for permanent settlement. In the May, 2006 issue of Phoenix Magazine's Annual "Best Places to Live" in the valley, Fountain Hills was voted #1 out of 22 valley communities based on tax rate, population, crime, school test scores and student-teacher ratios, park acreage and miles to Sky Harbor Airport, just to name a few!! In Fountain Hills and the neighboring McDowell Mountain Regional Park you will find hiking and biking galore with thousands of acres of trails from beginner to skilled explorer. At the world famous Fountain park there is Fribee golf and in the town there are 3 public golf courses and 1 private course. We have 3 public parks besides the famous Fountain Park. Desert Vista is one of the most used amenities with the solar lighted, off-leash dog park which is open daily 6am to 9pm. There is also a skate park alongside Desert Vista Park's soccer fields where rollerbladers, bikers and skateboarders can exercise. Four Peaks Park is 15 acres and includes a soccer field with spectator seating, basketbal courts, tennis courts and a children's playground. Golden Eagle Park has 3 lighted baseball diamonds, basketball and tennis courts, picnic ramadas, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits and grassy areas. Our town has multiple fitness centers, a community center, Museum of Time, Veteran's Memorial and all the clubs and organizations you would expect in a big city but with a small town feel. There truly is Something for Everyone here in Fountain Hills!!! |
